Gibson Victory MVII, 1981-82, candy apple red

  • Serial number is 82XXXXXX, indicates made in Kalamazoo plant. Some serial number info says this is actually 1981 though.
  • Overall very nice condition, a survivor, see pictures. No major issues. Some scratches/small dings, discoloration on the neck binding, small finish crack on side of headstock, etc. One note: when I got this years ago I had to de-deodorize the case and the guitar. There is still some smell of the shampoo/cleaner I used, but it is not unpleasant. If you clean/polish the guitar, and maybe re-shampoo the case interior, or just let it air out foe a while, you can probably remove this. But I wanted to note it. In any case it is much better than smelling smoky IMO.
  • All original as far as I can tell. Pickups are strong and sound good. All controls function properly. One note, if you open this guitar, you will see the body is routed for a middle pickup. This is normal, Gibson was cutting costs in this period, the bodies were routed so they coudl be used on the MVII or MVX. Say what you want though about 80s Gibson, this is a pretty well made guitar. The neck is fast and the action is low. Setup is pretty good, but as always, adjust to your taste.
  • The bridges on these have little plastic inserts in the saddles, an odd design. A second bridge is included that I picked up somewhere. I am pretty sure the one on the guitar is the original one though.
  • Original hard case included, has some scars but overall not bad.

Any questions please let me know! Thanks for looking--

A note on shipping/handling: it really depends on your location. If it ends up costing much less I will refund the difference.
