This vintage 1979 Fender Stratocaster definitely isn't a collectors item with everything thats been done to it, however it is a great vintage player and it looks so cool.
The body, neck, pickguard, bridge and knobs appear original. Underneath the green paint it appears that the original finish was natural. Its not a perfect refinish but its pretty good and I really dig the green color. Its close to a British Racing Green. Tuning pegs were swapped to schaller pegs and a brass nut was added. It may have been refretted at some point as there is not a ton of wear to them and I believe they are jumbo frets.
When I got this, it had a set of EMG active pickups with a strange switch and felt like it would be best bringing it back to a more traditional setup. I used a set of Fender Custom shop, I believe Fat 50's pickups and a prewired setup with CTS pots and a heavy duty orange cap.
The neck is straight. It does have a 7.25" radius and thus has a little higher action than I typically like. However it does still play well and sounds great.
Missing strap buttons.
