Here we have a 1997 Gibson Les Paul Standard made for Yamano - Gibson's premier Japanese distributor from mid 70's till mid 00's. These guitars had a rigorous quality control process and were known to return guitars if expectations were not met. This example does not dissapoint. The Ebony finish is a classic and elegant look that has naturally started to age and check through some parts of the front and back. The wood on this guitar rings all throughout the body and neck is very comfortable to play. It's got a few minor dings and scratches, as expected for a guitar that is 29 years old but nothing concerning or major. It has natural checking that looks really nice. Frets have plenty of life on them. The pickups ring screws were changed to black, I do not have originals. Currently has Gibson Classic 57's pickups installed, (a nice upgrade), but can easily swap in originals if you'd like. The original strap buttons were replaced with strap locks at some point but have been replaced with the correct Gibson style. Just a truly great guitar all around. Comes in the original case with the Yamano papers with serial # of the guitar and date it was finished. Please take a look at all the pictures for reference and condition.
