Up for sale, a 1977 Greco EG800PB in great, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This "lawsuit era" Greco was crafted at the Fujigen factory in Japan, designed as a faithful recreation of Peter Frampton's iconic "Phenix" triple-pickup Black Beauty Les Paul Custom, famously seen on the cover of (and heard on)
Frampton Comes Alive!
The tonewood complement comprises a mahogany body with a maple top, maple neck, and ebony fingerboard, and this EG800PB weighs 10lbs 5oz.
The original trio of Maxon-made U-2000 humbuckers feature Alnico V magnets; these pickups are articulate and warm, with treble-centric growl and sweet sustain, responding well to thick overdrive. Medium output, these humbuckers have a punchy quality, responsive to pick attack, and the central pickup is wired in-phase for an extra full middle position tone.

The gloss Ebony finish has moderate buckle rash across the back, light scuffing on the treble side of the pick path, and a number of minor dings and finish scratches on the body as a whole. The factory protective adhesive brown paper is still intact on the rear control cavity and switch covers. I did switch the original white pickup rings to black but the original white rings will be included, if you want need me to switch them back just ask.
The gloss on the neck profile has only a few shallow marks on its length. The headstock does show delamination around the Greco diamond logo. Guitar will come with a Road Runner hardshell case, one of the latches doesn’t close however in great condition and fully functional.
I will ship quick only in the US please. All the best and God Bless!!!!
