Here is a lightly used PRS Core Standard 24. I am the 2nd owner and I just can’t keep this right now. This color is discontinued and goes for $3,500 new. Save some money. This was one of the first runs and shipped in the older (nicer) leather case. Never gigged. Smoke free home. I am a player not a store and I have a 25 year perfect track record on eBay and Reverb.
The PRS Standard 24 Satin is a tribute to the foundational instruments of Paul Reed Smith’s pre-factory era, wearing a body comprised purely of resonant and lightweight mahogany. Paired with PRS DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) pickups, the Standard 24 Satin sings with a pleasantly midrange-rich voice that radiates warmth and depth. Next, the body is matched by a mahogany neck, capped with a Pattern Thin profile and a 10-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard — a combination that ensures slick bends and comfortable chords from the first fret all the way up to the 24th. You also get a top-shelf PRS hardware arrangement to sharpen up performance and reliability, including a PRS Gen III tremolo unit and Phase III locking tuners. A truly distinct addition to the beloved Core lineup, the Standard 24 Satin elevates the PRS pre-factory formula with 40 years’ worth of cutting-edge guitar design.
Dual DMO dynamics: state-of-the-art sound
Coinciding with 40 years of aural excellence, this Standard 24 Satin debuts a powerful pair of pickups that capture years of Paul’s and the PRS New Products Research team’s hands-on research and innovative development. Enter the DMO humbuckers. Short for “Dynamic, Musical, Open,” the DMO Treble and Bass pickups — mounted in the bridge and neck positions, respectively — represent a wealth of boundary-pushing possibilities. Paul and his team utilized state-of-the-art advancements in both signal analysis and tuning technologies to harness the magic of myriad vintage pickups and reimagine them as a constellation of tone-crafting capabilities, conjuring transparent vocal character and shimmering, precise sound in every register.
Pattern Thin power, speed, and support
With next-gen designs come modern accommodations, and the Standard 24 Satin is brimming with contemporary character that will meet the needs of the most exacting performers yet won’t compromise on the time-tested panache seasoned PRS players adore. This iteration of the Standard 24 features a Pattern Thin-profile mahogany neck adorned with a rosewood fretboard. As a descendent of PRS’s hallmark Pattern Regular profile, this guitar’s Pattern Thin design transposes the years of prototyping that led to Paul Reed Smith’s original, pre-factory neck profile into a form factor reimagined for the modern era. With a 10-inch fingerboard radius, 24 nickel frets, and a 25-inch scale, the Standard 24 Satin expertly blends speed, accessibility, and comfort into a versatile gauntlet of total tonal exploration, perfectly malleable, yet never wavering on its distinctive sonic character.
High-class hardware abounds
Paul Reed Smith’s ceaseless search for 6-string perfection is perhaps best exemplified in PRS’s ultra-high-performance hardware appointments. In particular, this Standard 24 Satin boasts a PRS Gen III tremolo that allows for deep dives and expressive vibrato without even the slightest hint of tuning instability. Head on over to the headstock to be greeted by the Standard 24 Satin’s Phase III tuners — locking tuning machines that facilitate incredibly quick string changes and rock-solid stability.
