Up for sale is a stunning 2007 Gibson Les Paul Supreme in the rare Gold Top finish. This is a beautiful instrument that plays as good as it looks. I have owned this guitar for over a decade and it has been a mainstay in my studio, with the exception of a handful of gigs. It has been well-loved and meticulously cared for.
The Model:
The Les Paul Supreme is famous for its "elevated" specs, including a beautiful Averaging AAAA carved maple back (no plastic control plates on the back!) and the "Globe" headstock inlay. Being a 2007 model, this was produced during the 50th Anniversary year of the Gold Top, making it a particularly desirable find for collectors and players alike.
Condition:
The guitar is in Very Good condition. It has been a reliable studio workhorse and remains structurally perfect.
- Finish: There is some light, but noticeable, finish checking (cracking in the nitrocellulose) located below the bridge and around the bridge pickup. This is purely cosmetic and typical for a Gibson of this age that has been played.
- Playability: Excellent. The action is smooth, and the frets have plenty of life left.
- Hardware: All original.
Specs:
- Serial Number: 01447XXXX (Produced May 24, 2007, in Nashville, TN)
- Body: Chambered mahogany body with carved maple top AND back.
- Fingerboard: Rich Ebony with Mother of Pearl split-block inlays.
- Pickups: Original Gibson humbuckers (490R / 498T).
- Binding: Seven-ply top binding; three-ply back binding.
The guitar comes with the original hard case.
This is a rare chance to own a "Gold Standard" Les Paul that stands out from the crowd. Please see photos for detail on the finish checking. Feel free to reach out with any questions!
