The Majesty sits at the top of the Ernie Ball Music Man range, developed alongside John Petrucci as a fully realised modern instrument. Rather than evolving a traditional design, it was built from the ground up with a focus on ergonomics, speed, and versatility.
This Majesty 6 in Ember Glow carries that approach throughout. The neck through construction gives it a very immediate and even response across the entire fingerboard, while also contributing to its strong sustain. In the hands it feels fast and balanced, with the slim neck profile and flatter radius making it easy to move across the neck without resistance.
Tonally, it covers a wide range. Fitted with DiMarzio humbuckers, it delivers a clear, high output voice that stays articulate under gain while still cleaning up well. The onboard piezo system adds another layer, allowing for more acoustic style tones when needed, making it a flexible instrument across different styles.
The control layout is designed to keep everything accessible without becoming complicated. A 3-way selector handles the magnetic pickups, while a second switch allows you to bring in or blend the piezo system. The onboard preamp and boost function give you additional headroom when pushing into higher gain sounds.
Hardware is equally considered, with locking tuners and a floating tremolo system that stays stable while still allowing for expressive use.
Overall, it’s a very complete instrument, designed to cover a lot of ground while maintaining a consistent feel.
