1971 40 watt RMS Fender Super Reverb. One of the last "good" years for these.

Condition and History:

I found this Super Reverb amp from a Craigslist ad 25 years ago. It was in a shed behind a house. It needed everything, so I did everything it needed. Had multiple amp techs recap and overhaul as needed. (see some of the old receipts)

The cabinet was solid but the grill frame was deteriorated, so the frame and cloth is new from Mojotone. The Fender logo is original. Tolex and lean back stands are original. Pop out casters are original.

The speakers were done so I replaced them with Emminence Legends. I played a 71 Super just like this when I was a kid starting out in bands. I will testify that these Emminence speakers are really outstanding in this amp. Better than the original Alnico IMO. Really brings that certain tone you want from a Super. Spring reverb drips. Tremolo is everything you want.

Overall I spent a good bit more than the asking price in yesterdays dollars restoring this great amp, but never got to play it much. It deserves to get out there!

One other fact about these is that the amp is designed to run at 2 ohms, where most are 8 or 4 ohms. These amps are frequently loaded into aftermarket Mojotone head cabs for portability and used with other speakers. Endless tonal possibilities.
