1978 Music Man Stingray in very good condition. Sunburst finish, black pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. Equipped with a 2-band EQ, epoxy-coated preamp and through-body stringing. Aside from the new mute sponge, it's all original. Supplied in a Hiscox hard case.
There's general wear and tear, including small dings and scuffs in the body (mainly around the edges), as well as lacquer checking and some buckle rash on the back. The headstock is in good shape overall, with just a few dings along the top edge. The back of the neck has some small patches of wear along the G string edge, but is clean overall. The neck is straight and plays smoothly. The electronics work perfectly, and all hardware is in excellent condition. The truss rod works correctly without issue. This is an all-around excellent bass.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings and has a great action, allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is B010529. Weight: 9 lbs 9 oz / 4.34 kg. The body date is Nov 17th, 1978, and the neck date is Dec 17th, 1978. One pot is dated to late-77, the other 2 to late-78. Nut Width: 42.8 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21 mm.
