Gibson / 1963 J-45 Cherry Sunburst

A vintage J-45 with a very cool red and yellow contrast.

Vintage J-45s come in a variety of sunburst colors on the body top, which is one of the enjoyable points to consider when choosing one.

Early 1960 models have a darker color around the outer edge of the body top, while many from around 1964 onwards have faded red to an orangish hue.

The one we have in stock is a 1963 model, right in between those two periods.

The outer edge of the body top has a strong red color, and the yellow towards the center remains, giving it a very cool look.

In the 1990s, the Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish was introduced for J-45s, Les Pauls, and Les Paul Customs, and this guitar has a similar look.

The pickguard is a thin, large-sized red tortoiseshell pattern, which perfectly matches the body top's color.

From the following year, they switched to a thicker pickguard, so this particular look and specification is quite rare.

The neck has a regular grip with a 43mm nut width.

The headstock angle is 17 degrees.

The bridge has been changed from rosewood to ebony, and the saddle has been replaced from adjustable to straight, resulting in a rich, full-bodied tone with strong mid-low frequencies.

For those who are particular about the "face" of their J-45, and for those who have been searching for this style and look, this is a guitar you should definitely consider.
