Extremely rare Marshall 1959LTD Limited Edition Jimi Hendrix 100-Watt Super Lead, finished in its original purple Levant tolex.

Marshall produced only 100 of these amplifiers for the U.S. market in 1994, making this one of the rarest modern-era Super Lead reissues and a highly collectible piece for any Marshall or Hendrix enthusiast.

This example is exceptionally clean, all original, unmodified, and has never been serviced. It still retains its original factory tubes and fuses. Overall, this is a true survivor-grade, time-capsule example.

The amp also comes with a great story. The original owner was a professional tennis player who won the French Open in 1994. After receiving his first major check, he went shopping on the Sunset Strip, walked into Guitar Center, and purchased the full purple Jimi Hendrix Marshall stack along with a black Les Paul.

For the past 32 years, the amplifier lived primarily as a conversation piece in his living room. According to the original owner, it was only powered on twice before I acquired it.

Cosmetically, the amp is exceptionally clean overall. I would conservatively rate it around 90%, with only a few minor surface-level scuffs on the purple tolex and one circular indentation on the right-side panel, all shown clearly in the photos.

I played the amplifier for approximately 30 minutes at moderate volume, and everything functioned properly. Given its age and the fact that it has only been played a handful of times over the last 32 years, I would recommend that the next owner have it inspected by a qualified amp technician before putting it into regular use, especially if they plan to play it frequently or at high volume.
