1988 Gibson Les Paul Showcase Edition Goldtop 1956 Reissue 56 RI Signed

The serial number is “83118603” which dates it to November 6, 1988. This is the ultra rare Showcase Edition in which only 200 were made in different configurations. This is the ’56 Goldtop version and only 40 of these were made! These also feature the pickguard signed by Les Paul. The original owner purchased it in Japan.

This one was gigged quite a bit and has a lot of wear. The body is in good condition overall but has a lot of dings, scratches and scuffs. Nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage guitar and there are no cracks or structural issues.

The neck is straight and the frets show average wear. It’s in very good playing condition and has no major issues. The fretboard and back of the neck are clean and have no dings or worn areas. The headstock has small nicks around the edges, but no cracks, repairs or extra holes. There is some wear around the edge from where it was stored on a hanger. The nut is 1.69” wide, the neck measures 0.82” thick at the 1st fret and 0.95” thick at the 12th fret.

The electronics are original and in excellent working condition. The bridge and tailpiece were changed out for TonePros but the originals are included. It comes in the original hardshell case which has a lot of wear and tear on the outside. All of the latches are in excellent working order and the interior has no bad odors. The handle is firmly attached but the leather covering is gone. All included paperwork and accessories are shown in the photos.

Actual weight for the guitar is 9 lbs 10 oz.

Please note that I do not set up my guitars before mailing. I have played it and everything is good as far as I'm concerned, but you may need to change the strings, adjust the action or do other maintenance to get it to your preferences.
