For sale is a Korg KONTROL 49 MIDI keyboard/Controller. I am selling this for a neighbor who recently lost her musician husband. The condition of the keyboard is excellent and it has been used in a conditioned smoke-free environment in a home studio. I verified basic MIDI note on/off operations, volume and mod wheels, and all works well with my RME sound module into Logic Pro triggering keyboard plugins. The Korg Kontrol 49 can be powered by USB or an external power supply. I verified both. The power supply included is not the original, but it has the same power voltage/miliwatt as required by the device. The original box and packing material are included which will keep the device safe during shipping. The original USB cable is included.

Summary

The KONTROL49 combines a responsive velocity-sensitive keyboard with a rich set of assignable controls, making it a flexible tool for both studio production and live performance. Its dual MIDI OUT, USB connectivity, and extensive scene memory make it adaptable to a wide range of workflows

Two use cases that come to mind are:

• As a main or 2nd keyboard to a live sound rig connected to a sound module.
• As a MIDI controller for a DAW sending MIDI note on/off messages (and other control messages) to sound/audio plugins

As far as software is concerned, it appears the Kontrol Editor is available - but not sure whether it still supports the KONTROL49....or if you can run your computer in a backward compatibility mode to support it. (Buyer to verify.) The CD that came with the keyboard does not appear to be available at my neighbor's house. But what I noticed from the keyboard (and from the manual which can be found on-line), is that you can set up to control most any configuration or MIDI parameter using the settings functions directly on the KONTROL49. (Buyer to verify that this will satisfy their requirements.)

I'm personally impressed with this unit. While it has plastic keys, the keyboard feels to be of good quality and if you are limited in your studio to a smaller MIDI keyboard, this one will fit the bill. This is priced to move.
