1998 PRS Custom 22 – Vintage Sunburst – Dragon II Pickups – Wide Fat Neck – Original Case & Hang Tags
Up for sale is a stunning 1998 PRS Custom 22 in a beautiful Vintage Sunburst / Amber Cherry Sunburst finish, complete with its original PRS hard case and original PRS hang tags / paperwork.
This is a very elegant late-1990s PRS Custom 22, featuring a carved figured maple top with a warm amber center and deep red outer burst.
The finish has a classic vintage PRS look, somewhere between amber, cherry and violin-style sunburst, with the maple figure showing beautifully under the gloss.
According to the original PRS tag included with the guitar, this Custom 22 was built with a Wide Fat neck profile and a set of Dragon II pickups: Dragon II Treble in the bridge position and Dragon II Bass in the neck position.

The Dragon II pickups are one of the highlights of this guitar.
They are warm, clear, dynamic and very musical, with enough output for rock tones but still plenty of definition and vintage-inspired character.
The bridge pickup is articulate and focused, while the neck pickup is smooth, full and expressive.
The Wide Fat neck gives the guitar a very solid and comfortable feel, with excellent sustain and resonance.
It is a perfect neck profile for players who like a substantial but very playable PRS neck.
This guitar has the tone, feel and quality that made late-1990s PRS instruments so respected: great sustain, superb tuning stability, excellent construction and a very refined musical response.
Cosmetically, the guitar looks beautiful and presents very well.
The 10 top is very attractive and the burst finish is rich and classy.
