Designed in conjunction with Fender Custom Shop Master Builder Mark Kendrick, the Heritage models use profiling data from Fender USA for vintage-spec body and neck profile carves, standing toe to toe with the American Vintage and Original lines.

This Heritage ‘60s Jazz Bass boasts vintage spec features including a set of long-stem, reverse-geared tuning machines, spiral (threaded) bridge saddles, clay dot fingerboard inlays, Premium Vintage-Style pickups, and a gloss Olympic White nitro lacquer finish accented by a dark red tortoise pickguard.

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and slab rosewood fingerboard, yielding a smooth, balanced natural acoustic tone. The bridge pickup has the power, burp, and presence that ensures a Jazz Bass cuts through in ensemble situations, and it's easy to dial in the right amount of midrange growl and fundamental thump when balancing the sound between the two single coils. The tone can get quite smooth and wide too, simply by rolling off the bridge pickup Volume and Master Tone control, resulting in a thick sound that doesn't lack definition. The gloss Olympic White finish is genuine nitro lacquer, a feature offered on sparingly few Fender Japan instruments. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
