Here is a 1972 USA Gibson SG Pro electric guitar in a Walnut finish with it's original hard shell case and Grover tuners in very good condition. The guitar has been setup by a professional guitar technician. The guitar plays well but there are marks/scratches on the body as well as wear on the frets as would be expected on a guitar of this age. All original, except the strap pegs.
Google AI says:
- Pickups and Electronics: Equipped with dual "Soapbar" P-90 single-coil pickups (often described as having a tone between a single coil and humbucker) with black covers. It utilizes a front-mounted control cavity with a single-ply control plate, dual volume and tone controls using CTS 500k pots, and black "witch hat" knobs.
- Construction and Neck: The guitar features a solid Honduran Mahogany body with beveled edges and un-beveled cutaways. It has a 3-piece laminated Mahogany neck with a rear volute (a reinforced neck heel), a zero-degree neck angle (flat neck-to-body joint), and a set-in construction that joins at the 18th fret. The neck profile is slender, measuring approximately 0.800" at the 1st fret and 0.980" at the 12th fret.
- Hardware: It was the first SG to feature the "Harmonica" Tune-O-Matic bridge (Schaller) and came standard with a Gibson-engraved Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece, which helps balance the guitar's weight.
- Dimensions and Finish: It has a 24.75" scale length, a narrow 1 9/16" bone nut, and 22 frets with a 12" fingerboard radius. The fretboard is Indian Rosewood with block inlays.
