Here we have a beautiful Gibson Les Paul Classic from 1992. Some say that these early examples of the Les Paul Classics were painted by Tom Murphy. While I cannot confirm this 100% it sure looks like whom ever did the paint job certainly did a stunning job. The Heritage Cherry is actually more red than orange and it blends so nicely with the guitar. It's definitely a darker hue and probably one of the best looking ones I've come across. I took the pickguard off as to show the complete body but it will come installed. Original pickups were replaced with Dimarzio 36th anniversary that sound quite great. This guitar is very akin to the Beauty of the Burst page 78. Look them up for comparison, quite similar! It has a replaced nut, a couple of dings, chips and scratches in the back & middle of the neck which I tried to picture. The front look very clean and hardly any checking on this one. I decided to clean the control cavity and completely rewired it to 50's spec for the new owner. All new CTS 500KA pots, braided wire and Luxe Bumblebee caps - a nice upgrade. The original strap buttons were replaced with strap locks at some point but have been replaced with the correct Gibson style. It weighs a comfortable 9.5 lbs give or take on the bathroom scale.
