Short Description:
70+ Years of Legendary Tone
What We Think:
Condition: Used, Very Good
SP Luthier Notes: The pickguard had a crack that was repaired prior to it arriving at SP. The original tuners were removed at one point, they have been reinstalled with replacement screws. The saddle has been replaced. A neck reset was performed to restore proper neck angle and action. A few minor dents in the neck have been filled, color-matched and refinished. Intonation adjustment. No further work required.
The 1950 Martin D-28 is one of those legendary guitars that has inspired musicians for decades. The Adirondack spruce top and Brazilian rosewood body deliver a huge, mature voice with deep lows, clear highs, and the kind of openness only decades of aging can create. This guitar carries an incredible sense of history, and you can feel it the second it’s in your hands. Everything about it feels settled in and alive, from the way the neck sits in your hand to the response of every note. Warm, resonant, and full of character, this D-28 has a truly timeless voice.
