Note: See short video in gallery showing how I pack a guitar. I set myself apart with my SETUPS and PACKING. I include setup sheet with each guitar.
Here is a very special 2016 Gibson Les Paul 50s Tribute in goldtop finish. This guitar was reliced by hand over a 3-year period with minute detail going into treating each part and hand etching the extensive checking pattern on the top. Comes with distressed Epiphone old-style Canadian built (TKL) hard case. Weight = 8lbs, 2oz.
— Mahogany body & neck, rosewood board
— Les Paul tone and light weight
— 490R/498T humbuckers
These 50s Tribute Les Pauls have a chunky vintage feeling neck and thick humbucker sound. I spent many hours doing a relic by hand on this guitar little bit at a time. Every piece of hardware has been treated and every inch of finish has been roughed up. This is not for the faint of heart. This is a guitar that looks like it's been played since the 50s, like a real-world relic.
Back of neck, frets and fretboard however were not touched and they are all in perfect condition, so it plays like a dream. I would put the checking and relic vibe of this up against the Dax and other ones on Reverb selling for $5k-$8k. Only reason this one costs so much less is I didn't do it to a Custom Shop instrument. But the Tribute line is great and is lighter than most other Les Pauls out there. Every part is original to the guitar except the pickguard which comes from a Les Paul Classic 1960 reisue. I do a full setup and expert packing: details below. Thanks!
International
Please note, on Reverb, I ship to USA and Canada only. On eBay I ship worldwide with eBay International, which has the best pricing. cheers
Guitar Setup
Setup includes new strings (9s or 10s depending on what the nut is cut for), overall polish, clean and oil fingerboard. We spray out any pots that are noisy, turn the truss rod (if necessary) and set string height at low-to-medium action depending on string buzz present. We do a basic setup since setup is highly subjective you may want to get it set to your particular needs by your personal luthier anyway. Thanks!
Packing
Search "How to Pack a Guitar + Hot Girls" on YouTube for a video showing how I pack. I use quality boxes, thick bubble wrap, and peanuts to pack guitars. I have been doing this 15 years and know how to pack well--with or without a hard case. You can also read my packing blog post on my StillKickinMusic website. If you Google "Still Kickin - How to Pack a Guitar" you will find it. Thanks.

The Les Paul Studio '50s Tribute T has a traditional Les Paul mahogany body with a grain textured, satin finish maple top, as well as a mahogany neck with a '50s profile and a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. The time-tested selection of tonewoods, while Green Keys-style tuners and the faithful Tune-O-Matic bridge keep your tuning stability and intonation true during even the longest gigs.
50's Build
During the 50's the Les Paul was a real big and heavy guitar. There was no such thing as weight relief back then and people liked big and chunky necks that you could really dig in to without causing any kind of damage.
This guitar takes the same size and shape of the 50's Les Pauls but updates it with some modern weight relief in the Mahogany body that is topped with a beautiful piece of maple. This means that you can play for longer without the back and neck strain that so many players associate with the Les Paul at longer gigs.
The neck has not been changed much. In fact it still uses the same rounded 50's style neck profile that has been offered on guitars for years as part of the Gibson line-up. Made out of mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard this guitar is a joy to play especially for Les Paul traditionalists.
Hot Pickups
One of the biggest tricks this guitar has up its sleeves is the pickups that are installed. The 50's tribute features a pair of the rather hot but vintage inspired 490R and 498T pickups that are incredibly popular for a wide range of styles.
By playing with the volume and tone controls you can dial these pickups back to get classic PAF tones or turned up they deliver a much hotter sound perfect for more modern rock and metal styles where fast attack and great response are key to getting your sound.
Vintage Hardware
Just like the original 50's LP this guitar doesn't feature any kind of crazy modern hardware. No this guitar has simple but extremely solid parts that will keep the guitar feeling and sounding great for years to come.
With a very traditional stopbar tailpiece that has been used for nearly the entire life of the Les Paul and some classic green key style tuners not only does it look superb but it has the stability and feel of a premium guitar that has been around for a long time.
Professional Set Up
As part of the 2016 line this guitar has received a premium set up even before it has gone through our QC checks. This means that you can take this guitar out of the box on day one, go straight to your gig and rock up without any issues with the guitar at all.
No longer do you need to wait for a few days while you get your guitar. We all know that you want to get using a new guitar as soon as possible so Gibson have made sure you can do just that.
About Me
My store is a one-person small business that has been selling used guitars and basses for 15 years now. I do a basic setup and cleaning on every instrument I sell, so depending on workload it may be 1-2 business days before your guitar ships.
