A beautiful all original example of the legendary 1965 Gibson Firebird V.

Okay, not all original: that tiny plastic pickup selector switch cap on the pickup selector switch (switch is original electronics, only that tiny white plastic cap is new) is a new replacement part. I’ve had the guitar for 30 years and replaced that for sale).

Everything else is just the way it was when Gibson built it.

No damage, no cracks. Headstock has never been broken. There is the kind of cosmetic wear that I’ve done my best to document fully, what you’d expect from a guitar that has been both played and loved.

Most importantly, this Firebird delivers. It sounds great, with the epitome of that big, fat Firebird sound. Everything works perfectly on this superb player.

Some folks like the patina on the tailpiece so I’ll leave it there for a buyer to decide what to do with it. It'll polish up just fine.

Pots are correct originals stamped with proper Chicago Telephone Supply 1376448, which date them to November of 1964, as expected for a 1965 build date.

Only flaw is that replacement pickup switch cap — a gram of new plastic on this vintage beauty.
