For sale or best offer is a 1981 Fender Lead I with a Black finish. Originally introduced in response to an influx of affordable import guitars, the Lead III was built with a solid body and a hard tail bridge. It has a classically Fender neck with a comfortable C profile and a 25.5" scale length.
All Leads (I, II, III) share the same body with the same routes for its electronics, and are then outfitted with one or two pickups. This particular one had a single coil pickup installed in its pickguard. Its switches were then rewired - one became a three-way switch and the other a series-parallel for its awesome Seth Lover-designed bridge humbucker. This one is in great condition with some light nicks and dings here and there, and the ever-common (and cool) finish flaking from this era of Fender. It feels great to play and sounds killer! It weighs 9 lbs, 6 oz.
It has been professionally setup and comes with its original molded hardshell case.
