Original ABS locking hard case with 2 keys. Case has minor wear from storage, a bit of paint transfer and a couple scuffs. No cracks, splits, or structural issues.

This instrument was purchased new in 2006 by a music store and kept in inventory as an upgrade option until 2021 when we bought their stock. It is new old stock in mint condition. It has been gone through by our repair technician and is in excellent mechanical condition. This sax is perfect for the intermediate or advanced player who wants a jazz sound from a truly striking instrument!
Company history: In 1985 LA SAX set out to design saxophones specifically for contemporary jazz. From a garage in Barrington, Illinois they made saxophones with a look as unique as their sound. Early models were built from imported saxes that were stripped down, painted with specialized auto paint, then reassembled and set up to provide the desired jazzy sound with tons of edge and projection. As the company grew it attracted the attention of prominent players like Tom Scott (Don Ellis Orchestra), Jay Beckenstein (Spyro Gyra), Jim Nelson (Alabama), Kim Waters, and Richard Elliot. And President Bill Clinton, who was gifted the first limited-edition Presidential Model (LA-42T) tenor saxophone built in his honor.
In the early 2000s, LA Sax saw an evolution in design after the company sold to professional saxophonist Dennis Bramber. Under his team's guidance, 2004 marked the first LA SAX proprietary designs with the 750 and 850 models featuring bore and tone hole placement based on the revered Selmer Mark VI, with an added high G key. This horn is from that era of innovation and quality.
