Read this before bidding.** **What works (verified on the bench):** - Powers on, no smoke or odor - Both VU meters light and respond - Signal path is intact — confirmed audible playback through both channel faders on a test tape before disassembly was attempted **What does NOT work:** - **Transport is dead.** During testing, rewind worked, fast-forward worked intermittently, play was non-functional. After a partial disassembly attempt to access the mode switches, no transport function engages at all. The underlying issue is most likely dirty mode-switch contacts and/or a hardened idler tire / capstan belt — common 50-year-old TC-37x failures — but it has not been confirmed and no service has been performed. - **Left-channel monitor source switch is broken.** Mechanical fault in the switch itself. Likely revivable with DeoxIT and contact exercise, but again not attempted. - **Head-section cover is missing.** The smoked-plastic shield over the head/capstan area is gone. Heads themselves are present and visually intact.
