1970s Gibson Flying V hard cases are typically heavy-duty, form-fitting cases designed to protect the unique V-shape, often featuring black Tolex exteriors, plush-lined interiors (frequently maroon or red) and heavy-duty latches. These cases, sometimes referred to as "chainsaw" cases in the late '70s, featured an accessory pocket and securely cradled the guitar’s distinct headstock and body.
All the latches work perfectly and the case is in excellent condition for being vintage.
- Exterior: Black Tolex with a molded or wood hard shell, designed specifically for the sharp angles of the Flying V.
- Interior: Typically plush, featuring red or maroon lining.
