A superb example of Yamaha’s flagship SG2000 from their golden era. These guitars are widely regarded as some of the finest-built instruments of the late ‘70s / early ‘80s, and this one is a great representation.

Finished in classic cherry sunburst with gold hardware and the iconic SG headstock inlay, this guitar delivers the sustain and build quality these models are known for.

 Playability & Tone:

These are known for exceptional sustain and a slightly tighter, more articulate response than comparable Les Paul-style guitars. A fantastic instrument for both players and collectors. It was originally designed by the high end luthiers at Yamaha in conjunction with Carlos Santana to take on the might of Gibson to challenge the Les Paul dominated market at that time. The result is an absolutely fantastic instrument which would put Gibson to shame at the time. The pick ups are hand wired and specifically designed to work with the SG 2000's unique sustain plate built into the body. In short it's a gem of a guitar for any serious player.
