1972 Fender Telecaster Thinline – Natural

We present an all original 1972 Fender Telecaster Thinline in its original Natural finish, made in Fullerton, California.

This CBS-era Thinline features an extremely light ash body paired with a maple neck and maple fingerboard with black dot inlays. Designed by Seth Lover, the Wide Range humbuckers provide a full, versatile tone, making this model a distinctive and highly desirable variation of the classic Fender Telecaster.

Condition

This 1972 Telecaster Thinline is in excellent condition. The original Natural finish remains vibrant, strong, and beautifully preserved, showing only minor nicks, dings, and light cosmetic wear consistent with age.

The neck is clean with a comfortable C-shaped profile, and the original frets are in great condition with no buzz, although a future refret may be required. All six original Fender tuners are intact and turn smoothly. The pearloid pickguard has shrunk slightly over time but shows no cracks.

Originality

This ’72 Fender Telecaster Thinline is 100% original throughout — just as it left the Fullerton factory in 1972.

It retains the original Seth Lover-designed Wide Range humbuckers, which are powerful, well-balanced, and deliver a broad tonal range. The guitar features 1x volume and 1x tone knob, along with a 3-way pickup selector for versatile sound shaping.

All pickups, electronics, and wiring are completely untouched and intact, with no broken solder joints or rewound pickups.

It comes with a period-correct black Fender hardshell case with some stickers. The latches and handle remain in perfect working order.
