TEISCO TEARDROP 60'S SUNBURST

60’s TEISCO TEARDROP VOX COPY ELECTRIC GUITAR MADE IN JAPAN REAL PLAYER

You are bidding on a No Reserve Auction for an Old Vox copy electric guitar made by Teisco in the late 60’s or early 70’s! It looks like a copy of a Mark VI in some respects.

The Teisco brand name stands for 'Tokyo Electric Instrument and Sound Company'. Teisco was founded in 1946 by renowned Hawaiian and Spanish guitarist Atswo Kaneko, and electrical engineer Doryu Matsuda. Teisco guitars sold in the United States were labeled "Teisco Del Rey" beginning in 1964. Teisco guitars were also imported in the U.S. under several other brand names including but not limited to; Rythmcraft Silvertone, Jedson, Kent, Kingston, Kimberly, Tulio, Heit Deluxe and World Teisco, just to name a few.

These guitars were an incredible value and very affordable in their time and by today’s standards they are still a value.

This guitar is in great playing condition. Since everyone has personal preferences about how they like the action on their instruments we have not set this guitar up. The great thing about these Teisco’s, is that with the bolt on neck and adjustable bridge you can make the action you want so long as the neck is straight like this one!

We benched it and made sure everything functions as it should. The input crackles a little bit and we finished off the contact points, and with consistent use the contact should be clearer. The switch operates as it should and after some spray the pots cleaned up. As you can see in the pictures there are some scratches on the guitar. (see pictures).

Everything is original to the guitar accept the strings as far as we can tell!
