Late 1950's King Super 20 Tenor Saxophone Double Socket Sterling Silver Neck! Serial number 362,xxx.

Reasonable offers will be considered. Low ballers will be at best ridiculed.

Mechanically it is in very good condition, and the pads were replaced with Pisoni pads from Feree's with flat metal resos and natural (not synthetic) shellac for that "authentic vintage feel" in October of 2025.

It was clearly a relacquer when I got it and the whoever buffed it last dulled the engraving a bit (see pics, but especially noticeable on the bell keys). Surprisingly, only one tone hole needed to be leveled- the rest were in good shape. There was a good amount of the new lacquer missing, so I decided to strip it for aesthetic reasons. The instrument was disassembled, keys and body stripped with a chemical stripper ("Aircraft Remover"), body cleaned with soap and water, all of the keys were ultrasonically cleaned and hand polished. All rods and tubes were cleaned and oiled before installing the Pisoni pads. It is still developing it's patina and will just continue to look cooler and cooler as time goes by. It plays great and has been my "backup" to my Silversonic. It plays nearly identically, but this brass bell horn sounds a little darker to me. I recently found another King Super 20 that has original lacquer from the same era and I don't need 2 backup horns, so this one is for sale at a low price.

There have been a few repairs and resolders here and there, notably under the palm D and the low Eb key guard. The low E and C keyboards are genuine King parts but not gold lacquer brass, so they probably came from a later Zephyr, but that doesn't effect the playability. It also looks like the neck was repaired at some point and there remains a slight pull down. The neck was not chemically stripped in order to keep the silver shiny, but I can strip it before shipping if you like. The neck fit was confirmed with the neck checker you can get from MusicMedic and there were no leaks.

Comes with a lightweight Protec Max case with tons of storage. I'm attaching a link to me playing this instrument in December 2025. I was making the video for myself to compare some different mouthpieces.
