First introduced in 1932, the L-00 has long been one of Gibson’s most iconic small-bodied acoustics. The new L-00 Special continues that legacy with a USA-made, all-solid wood build that pairs vintage vibe with player-friendly updates. Handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana, this model features solid mahogany back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, scalloped X-bracing, and a satin nitrocellulose finish for an open, warm, and responsive tone that punches far above its size. Its compact body shape makes it incredibly comfortable to hold and especially ideal for fingerstyle players and singer-songwriters seeking a focused, articulate voice that holds its own in a mix.

The L-00 Special’s utile neck features a fast-playing SlimTaper profile with a 12” rosewood fretboard and mother-of-pearl dot inlays. A compound dovetail neck joint is affixed with traditional hot hide glue, further reinforcing Gibson's heritage build quality. The classic rectangular rosewood bridge with TUSQ saddle complements the TUSQ nut and bridge pins, while Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners provide smooth and reliable tuning stability. The tortoise pickguard, simple single-ply binding, and gold-silkscreened Gibson logo on the headstock complete the vintage aesthetic.
