Gibson JG-0 acoustic guitar – a rather rare model produced for a short time, from 1970 to 1972. It is a western dreadnought with a square-shoulder body, made during the period when Gibson’s factory was still located in Kalamazoo.
The instrument is over fifty years old and has undergone a major restoration in the past. The frets and fingerboard were replaced (the fingerboard is now ebony), and the guitar was most likely refinished with a clear lacquer. From a luthier’s point of view – playability and neck geometry – the guitar is fully functional and does not require any additional investment.
These modifications are reflected in the attractive price for a vintage instrument. This guitar is aimed more at players looking for a reliable, stylish acoustic guitar with history, rather than a fully original collector’s piece.
The guitar is made entirely of solid wood. It features a spruce top, mahogany body, and a three-piece neck with the typical volute of the era. The yellowed finish and visible signs of use give it a strong vintage character.
The guitar comes with a modern original Gibson hard case.
