The gankogui is an iron double bell of the Ewe people in Ghana, Togo, and Benin. It is a fundamental West African time-keeping instrument. Forged from iron, it features two different-sized bells joined by a handle, creating distinct high and low pitches that drive the rhythm for percussion ensembles.
