This vintage CBS-era P-bass has a cosmetically beat-up back from severe buckle rash, and one side of the maple fingerboard is pretty dinged up (see pics) but none of it affects the playing. This bass plays and sounds great. The serial number dates it to late 1973 or early 1974. The frets are good and the neck is straight. The body is solid with no cracks or repairs anywhere. A black DiMarzio split single coil pickup was added as a bridge pickup wired in parallel. It looks like the black finish is original and it has thin checking lines throughout that don’t show up in the pics or when you’re playing. The three divots to the left of the bridge pickup are very superficial and feel smooth to the touch. The back of the maple neck is in very good shape and it feels smooth and hard when you’re playing. The surface of the fretboard is in good shape too.The E string tuner has been replaced with a Hipshot drop-D tuner, and I do not have the original tuner. It comes with a Fender hard shell case.
