Tama's Starphonic series snare drums are the result of over 3 years of R&D and artist testing with the ultimate goal of creating snare drums that combine the ultimate in rich, resonant tones and crisp snare response. In order to achieve this, Tama went to great lengths to develop new hoop, lug, and strainer designs specifically for the Starphonic series drums and then married these new hardware components to a series of uniquely constructed drum shells.
