This is a 1930’s original Stradolin that comes with the original chipboard case. A pickup has been professionally installed to allow hookup to an amplifier. It was restored professionally by Nashville Fretworks known for competent and compelling craftsmanship. A unique instrument that was played by the likes of David Grisman’s son and John Paul Jones. A bargain piece of history that needs a good home!
1930’s Strad-O-Lin mandolins are highly regarded vintage, American-made "sleeper" instruments known for exceptional, woody tone and high volume, often rivaling Gibsons of the era. Likely produced by the United factory in New Jersey, they feature all-solid wood construction (spruce top, maple back/sides)
- Tone & Quality: These instruments are favored for "bluegrass on the cheap," offering a punchy, mid-range sound that suits old-time and bluegrass music.
- Thanks for looking!
