rosetones creates a polyphonic synth voice that follows your playing. it listens to your notes and routes them through sympathetic resonators, creating blooming harmonic textures and evolving chords

at the center of rosetones is a 12-voice chromatic resonator bank that continuously analyzes the input signal and routes detected pitches into tuned delay lines. each pitch class excites a resonator that can sustain, swell, and interact with feedback to create dynamic harmonic movement

at the center of rosetones is a 12-voice chromatic resonator bank that continuously analyzes the input signal and routes detected pitches into tuned delay lines. each pitch class excites a resonator that can sustain, swell, and interact with feedback to create dynamic harmonic movement. the twelve central LEDs display the signal level of each resonator in real time, showing how incoming notes are exciting the 12-voice bank. the result is part synthesizer, part acoustic resonance engine the octave control shifts the active 12-note window across the keyboard range, redefining where the resonators are voiced while pitch detection remains unchanged. play a basic triad and adjust the octave control to re-voice the same notes into new inversions. a low bass line can drive higher voiced resonators, transforming weight into shimmer and contrast modulation adds motion and depth to the resonator bank. CHORUS introduces subtle multi-voice detuning for ensemble-style width, while VIBRATO applies drifting pitch movement per synth voice. the sens and feedback controls shape how strongly notes excite the resonators and how long they sustain, ranging from short percussive resonance to evolving harmonic bloom any equal-tempered instrument such as guitar, bass, or synthesizer can drive the resonator bank with natural tracking response. MIDI note messages allow precise pitch articulation layered over input audio, enabling harmonies that follow the timing and phrasing of your performance. percussive sources can reveal melodic structure, while sustained lines expand into harmonic space rosetones can also function as a standalone sound source. with no input signal, higher sens and feedback settings allow the internal noise floor to excite and sustain the resonators, producing a unique drone voice shaped by octave, tone, and modulation additional features include selectable gain and bypass modes, full MIDI control of every faceplate function, and onboard preset storage. powered by a standard 9-volt center-negative supply, rosetones integrates seamlessly into pedalboards and studio setups

Questions about your rosetones?

what power supply does the ROSETONES need?

a standard 9VDC center-negative supply with at least 200mA. the power input has built-in reverse polarity and over-voltage protection

how do the sens and feedback controls interact?

they work as a pair. higher feedback increases sustain and allows the resonators to bloom with less input energy. when feedback is high, you can lower sens. higher sens with lower feedback gives a shorter, more controlled response that requires a stronger input signal to excite. start by setting both to noon and adjust from there

what does the octave slider do? does it change what notes get detected?

the octave slider only changes the register where the resonators sound. it doesn't affect note detection. ROSETONES always detects notes across its full tracking range (C2–B5) regardless of the slider position. this lets you drive the resonators with a bass line while they voice into a higher octave, or play high chords while the resonators sound lower

can I use ROSETONES in mono?

yes. connect to IN L and OUT L only. in stereo, lower notes are panned left and higher notes right. that stereo imaging collapses to mono when using a single output

can I use ROSETONES with synthesizers or line-level gear?

yes. input gain mode is selectable at boot. cycle through instrument (low), instrument, and line level modes to match your source. the input is compatible with both 1/4" TS instrument and line level signals

can ROSETONES work without any audio input?

yes. with no audio input connected, ROSETONES requires MIDI note messages to trigger the resonators. higher sens and feedback settings allow the resonators to sustain and bloom from those MIDI triggers, producing a drone voice shaped by octave, tone, and modulation

what MIDI adapter does ROSETONES use?

a 3.5mm type B MIDI adapter. type A looks identical but is wired differently and won't work. this is the most common MIDI connection issue. if you're unsure which type you have, contact us

how do I change the MIDI channel?

hold the bypass footswitch while powering on and continue holding until the purple bypass LED starts blinking. then send any MIDI CC message on your desired channel. the LED stops blinking and the pedal saves that channel. ROSETONES defaults to MIDI channel 1

how do I save and load presets via MIDI?

ROSETONES has 9 onboard preset slots. to save: dial in your sound, then send MIDI program change #11–19 (slot 1 = PC#11, slot 9 = PC#19). to load: send program change #1–9. note that a factory reset restores settings but does not erase saved presets

what are the secondary controls and how do I access them?

hold the modulation mode button for 1 second until the LEDs blink. while continuing to hold, adjust mix (synth output level), tone (glide time between octave positions), or the octave slider (interval, which adds a fixed pitch offset of unison through major 7th to all resonators). settings are saved between power cycles

what bypass modes are available?

analog buffered bypass (dry signal is fully analog when bypassed) or DSP trails (effect tails continue after bypass). to switch, apply power while holding the modulation mode button for 1 second, select your bypass mode, then power cycle to save

how do I do a factory reset?

set all knobs and the octave slider to minimum, then apply power while holding the modulation mode button for 2 seconds. the CHORUS and VIBRATO LEDs will blink rapidly to confirm. this restores synth level, glide time, interval, and boot configurations. saved presets are not affected
