Vintage 1970s Tokai Model 35 Cedar Acoustic Guitar Hard Case Japan

Here's a really cool and rare Tokai Model 35 that was made in Japan in the '70s and is a full size dreadnought body. This is basically Tokai's copy of a Martin D35 and it was just cleaned up and restrung with Martin .12-54s phosphor bronze strings. This plays and sounds great and still has the original paper label inside. This guitar is unique with a solid cedar top, rosewood back and sides, very nice fret board inlays, nice binding, top is flat with no bellying or bulging and the bridge has no signs of lifting. The neck is straight and the truss rod works. Frets are good and have lots of life in them. The original truss rod cover is missing, which is common on these models or they have been replaced. The original gold tuners hold tune well, but they have some tarnish and pitting. In overall good condition for a 50+ year old guitar. The top of the body has a crack in the finish near the bottom edge, as seen in the photos, and could be re-glued flat, if so desired, but it never bothered me. Other than the usual bumps and knocks on the body, neck and headstock, this is a very solidly built guitar. This will come in a Mars Music branded hard case that has a replaced wire cord handle, but the case is very solid with no damage or odors. Please do your own research to be sure this is the guitar you want to buy. A great addition to any collection and a nice alternative to most spruce topped guitars. From a smoke free home.
