These obsolete proprietary paddle connectors are needed to connect a mic to a vintage Webster-Chicago wire recorder, and may work for other brands as well.

Until the end of WWII enabled USA brands to start making tape recorders, wire recorders were the best option for home and office recording. If you'd like your vintage wire recorder to remain unmodified, you can use these connectors to hook up your modern mic to it. Signal (positive) goes on the center pin and ground is the pin that's oriented differently from the others. Be sure to ground the casing and leave pin 3 disconnected.
