Overview
*Listed as fair, but really, this thing plays great as-is.*
This is a rare, transition-era 1946 Gibson LG-2. It features the coveted gold "script" headstock logo and was built just after Gibson ceased wartime production. This model is legendary for its ultra-light construction and scalloped X-bracing, delivering a warm, woody punch that punches well above its size. If you are willing to put in the work or get the work done, you can restore this guitar into its former glory. Please see photos and ask any questions. No returns or exchanges on any purchases.
This guitar is a true "warhorse" that has seen decades of use. While it plays and sounds great as-is, it is an ideal candidate for a luthier's "glow-up" to reach its full potential.
Bridge: Replaced (supposedly by Favilla back in the day).
- Top: One tight face crack and an open center seam crack at the bottom.
- Back: Contains some thin hairlines; one was previously glued (visible glue droplets inside; not cleated).
- Neck: The back of the neck is in excellent shape with a comfortable feel. It features the substantial, round-backed "C" profile typical of this era.
- Hard Case: Included (bottom latch is broken but still holds securely).
