I bought this saxophone in 1992 while living in Seattle. I studied jazz with Dan Lanphere, a legendary saxophonist from the 1940s and 1950s who recorded with Fats Navarro, Woody Herman, Claude Thornhill and Charlie Barnet . The horn carried me through to music school in Maryland where I studied with Chris Vadala, who played in the Chuck Mangione band. I unfortunately left music for a soul sucking job in healthcare consulting. The horn is in excellent condition. Original bronze finish. Keys are smooth. Pads in great condition. Microscopic scratches in some areas and 2 to 3 discoloration spots, which is typical of a horn of this age. A very warm and earthy sound. Very well constructed. Original case, with little wear, with exception of handle that broke off. The horn has been sitting, unused, collecting dust, for 25 years. None of my kids want to take up the instrument. It needs a new home.
