The Boss HM-2 Heavy Metal is a distortion pedal from the '80s that nails the chainsaw grind of Swedish death metal when you crank all the knobs. It's got Dist for gain, Level for output, and separate Lows and Highs EQ knobs that mix extreme boosts or cuts around key frequencies for that mid-forward Marshall stack vibe. Runs on the old ACA adapter or a 9V battery, but watch the voltage sag in chains.

Dial it back for heavy rock tones or max it for buzzsaw aggression. Works great into a clean amp or stacked with other dirt, especially with humbuckers.

Simple mono in/out setup. No frills, just raw heavy metal tone that's influenced tons of clones and players.
