For sale is my 1962 016 NY Martin. This guitar has a voice like no other...it doesn't know it's small! Lots of volume and soul. As you can see, it's been around, so it contains a lot of stories. I got it in 2016 from someone who nothing about it, off of EBay. I had the neck reset and had it refretted by a certified Martin repair guy in Seattle. After adjusting to that work, I had Michael Lewis work on it a little for me again, to fine tune the nut and make some improvements to the set up. It plays like a dream! Easy, low action but doesn't rat out. Last year I had to have the bridge repaired where it cracked, as pictured, which doesn't affect sound or playability. Other than that it's in the same over-all condition it was in before it came to me- with all the bruises and battle wounds of a big life, well-lived, including some kind of hack job on the lower bout where it must've gotten into quite a bar fight, once upon a time. Also doesn't effect sound. It's rich and resonant, responsive and has a special sparkle. In any room I'm found playing it, someone with good ears inevitably always seems to zero in on it and asks to check it out. I'm sad to part with it, but I've switched to a dreadnaught and sadly, this one just isn't getting played anymore. It should! Hoping to find the right home for it with someone who will love it as I have. There's a K&K Miniwestern pick up in it. I've only ever used light strings on it but it would be fine with mediums. It's just loud enough with lights that I have stuck with that out of kindness. "With great power comes great responsibility," someone once told me. Comes shipped in a hard, white, sticker-covered Crossrock brand case with red velvet lining. It was the first guitar I had and it's been all around the country with me, and all over Alaska, which is where I live. $3,200, which includes shipping from Anchorage. Serious buyers only, please.
