SUMMARY: Commonly referred to as the Metal Master. Some call it "Ugly Betty" or the Gumby guitar. Exact date of manufacture and origin are unknown; assumed to be early 80’s Korea. Some say Japan. This appears to be the first version. Subsequent versions have the switch in a different location. Fully setup and ready to play. Well-made with great tuning stability, tone, sustain and playability.
CONDITION: Very good, all original (no modifications). Some very minor scuffs on the body and small dings in the neck. No fret wear. See photos for detail.
WORK PERFORMED ($220 value): Fret work (set, level, crown, dress as required and polish), fretboard cleaned/conditioned, pots and switch cleaned/lubed, nut filed/polished, new strings (D’Addario EXL120 9-42), complete setup (truss rod, action, intonation, lubrication as required, pickup height). Guitar cleaned and polished. All parts/electronics tested and fully functional.
For reference, Guitar Center charges $60 for a setup and $160 for a fret level/crown/polish and can take weeks to perform.
