2006 Martin 1833 Custom D-42
Madagascar Rosewood / Italian Spruce — 1 of Only 14 Made
Offered here is an exceptionally rare 2006 Martin 1833 Custom D-42, one of just 14 instruments produced worldwide and originally distributed through a small group of select Martin specialty dealers.
This guitar was originally purchased new from Dream Guitars. Dream Guitar's website still has this guitar listed in its historical or sold listing. It will ship with:
- the original Dream Guitars invoice
- the original warranty card (unused)
- all original case candy
- original Martin TKL case
These materials accompany the instrument exactly as received when new.
Tonewoods include Madagascar rosewood back and sides paired with a shaded Italian spruce top—a premium and increasingly scarce combination associated with high-end Martin custom builds and vintage-inspired tonal character.
Appointments include full Style-42 abalone trim, flame maple bindings, Macassar ebony headplate, and a torch headstock inlay, along with gold Waverly tuners with black pearl buttons. The shaded top is especially striking and rarely seen on Style-42 instruments.
This is a refined, powerful dreadnought with excellent projection, harmonic complexity, and headroom—equally suitable for collectors and serious players.
