Custom built double cutaway multi-species electric guitar

This is a multi species custom built electric guitar which is among the many that I built some years ago. The double cutaway is just a fun departure from most models I build. The mulit-species body exploits the tonal characteristics of the different woods - in this case Mahogany, Poplar and Sapele. The humbucker pickups are Alnico-5 PAF style - I don't remember the manufacturer. For some reason the neck pickup cavity was a little off line so the pickup does not line up perfectly to the strings but still works just fine. Just for fun I mounted the bridge pickup in position for a 25" scale to get a fuller bridge pickup sound. It's really good for classic rock. The 22 fret 25.5" scale fretboard is Poplar. The neck is a 3 piece laminate of Mahogany and Purpleheart and is really comfortable to play. As with all my guitars the neck to body connection permits easy access to the highest frets.
