Vintage Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, serial number 191560, dating to approximately 1971–1972.
This is a classic “player’s horn” with strong original lacquer and no major structural damage. The engraving is crisp and the horn presents very well overall.
Condition:
- Original lacquer with visible wear, especially on the bow and bell rim
- No major dents or signs of significant repair
- Normal surface scratches consistent with age
- Not recently overhauled; pads and regulation may need attention depending on player preference
Notes:
This sax was recently inherited from a deceased relative. It has essentially been sitting in it's case in a closet for the last 50 years! I had it inspected by a local specialist here in San Diego and they said it's in really good condition (besides the few dents and insignificant number/name engravings) and has original pads but no leaks. Perfectly good playing condition.
This is a great opportunity to own a genuine Mark VI at a more accessible price point. With a proper overhaul, this horn has the potential to be an outstanding professional instrument.
Includes case/extra mouth pieces/etc (See pictures) .
