Here’s a very cool and harder-to-find late 1980s to early 1990s ESP “The Eclipse” electric guitar, made in Japan and finished in a great-looking transparent green. This is a very early version of the Eclipse, from before ESP dropped the word “The” from the name and transitioned the model to a set-neck design. This is one of the earlier bolt-on versions from ESP’s transitional period and not something you see every day.

This guitar is all original and comes equipped with a set of EMG 81 pickups and the harder-to-find stop bar tailpiece configuration. It weighs 7 lb. 13 oz., has a 24.75" scale length, and a 1.66" nut width. The neck measures .780" at the 1st fret and .803" at the 12th fret.

Condition-wise, it shows honest wear consistent with a guitar of this era. Flaws may consist of small chips, dings, scratches, and light playwear. There is light buckle rash present. The frets are in excellent shape with very little wear, as pictured. The black hardware is also in great condition with only minimal discoloration.

The original ESP hard shell case is included. It functions as it should overall, but the middle latch is broken. The case key is included.

The guitar is freshly set up with Super Slinky 9s and plays amazing over the entire fingerboard. As always, everyone has their own preferences, so if a change in strings or setup is desired, it will be the responsibility and cost of the buyer.
