Char, a guitarist who has had a tremendous influence on the history of Japanese rock and continues to be active on the front lines to this day, is honored with this special edition model created to commemorate his 70th birthday. It is based on the Japan-made signature model "Char Mustang®."
Char has customized his Custom Shop-made Char Signature Mustang® “Free Spirits” with a paisley pattern, using it on many stages. This model adopts the paisley design on the Japan-made "Char Mustang®" released in 2019, achieving a special look that reflects Char’s unique style.
Additionally, a new synchronized tremolo bridge was developed to match the thinner body thickness of the Mustang compared to the Stratocaster. This unique model maintains the Mustang®’s excellent handling and playability while enabling Stratocaster®-style tremolo performance. It also features a 3-position toggle switch for intuitive pickup selection, and the control knob layout has been adjusted to allow volume control that feels similar to a Stratocaster.
