This guitar is #8 of 8 instruments designed and built by Dana Bourgeois for the 2003 NAAM show. It is Adirondak Spruce over figured Brazilian Rosewood, with a beautiful perfling'd binding and inlays on the fretboard that are stunning. The figuring is a rare birdseye, which creates an almost three dimensional figure, and the build reflects Dana Bourgeois' usual standards of craftsmanship. At 23 years old, the instrument obviously has been very well cared for and shows almost no wear. It is well set up, plays smoothly and easily, and the Brazilian Rosewood chimes like no other. It is full scale length with a nut width just shy of 1 3/4, or a fat 1 23/32 (depending oh how you measure it.). The guitar has a K&K pickup installed and comes with a hard case that does not appear to be original.

The Gibson Advanced Jumbo is one of the hidden gems of Gibson's design portfolio--being one of the few full scale rosewood models offered by Gibson--and this interpretation in Brazilian by Dana Bourgeois takes that design to new places.
