1966 Gretsch Double Anniversary 6117 in Golden Sunburst – All Original w/ Case, Strap & Cord!
Bay Area Vintage Guitars is pleased to offer this 1966 Gretsch Double Anniversary 6117 in its classic Golden Sunburst finish. Confirmed by serial number 861110, this is a clean, all-original example from the golden era of Gretsch’s Brooklyn production.
This is the real deal: original finish, pickups, electronics, and hardware—not a refin, not a parts guitar. The finish has aged beautifully with light patina and tasteful checking throughout, along with a few minor dings and scratches (see photos). It presents exceptionally well and retains all the character you want from a mid-’60s Gretsch.
Details:
- Original Golden Sunburst finish with light vintage checking
- Original HiLo’Tron pickups – clear, jangly, and articulate with classic Gretsch sparkl
- Original electronics and hardware
- Neck is straight and comfortable with smooth playability up and down the neck
- All binding intact and stable (see photos)
- Light cosmetic wear (light scrataches, a few light nicks) consistent with age – no abuse, just honest playwear
- Weight: 6.8 lbs
- Nut width: 1.71"
- Neck depth at 1st fret: .82"
- Neck depth at 12th fret: 1.31"
- Includes original Gretsch hardshell case, and original strap + guitar cord
This one delivers exactly what you want from a vintage Gretsch: lively resonance, fast response, and that unmistakable chime and clarity from the HiLo’Trons. It’s a fantastic player that still holds strong collector appeal thanks to its originality and condition.
If you’ve been hunting for a clean, all-original mid-’60s Gretsch with the right look, feel, and tone—without stepping into White Falcon territory—this is your guitar.
