Here is an uber cool Italia Mondial Classic Deluxe in classic cream. These were made by British luthier Trevor Wilkinson (famed for hand-wound-pickups, tuners, trem systems) to re-create the classic 1950s/60s Italian Mondials style with modern playability. It has a pancake body consisting of a German carve, reso-glass top with single f hole and a chambered mahogany (sometimes Agitha) back with a rubber gasket between the two. This is the deluxe version with adjustable Wigsby (Wilkinson Bigsby) trem system and a piezo rigged non wooden bridge controlled with the two knobs on the upper bout (volume and tone). There is a Wilkinson hand-wound humbucker in the neck and a Gibson P90 in the bridge position. It's a tone monster. These early Korean built Deluxe modela were made primarily for the UK market in limited runs between 2006-2009 and are long discontinued. This is a rare find and even rarer as a deluxe w Wigsby and P90. Get on your Lambretta with this strapped to your back and Claudia Cardinale will come running. The rest is magic. It has been destrung to clean and will be left unstrung for shipping neck off to protect the guitar. The action was beautiful and low.

The Mondial Classic hits at the very core of what the Italia product line is about. Inspired by some of the cool fiberglass top designs coming out of the 50’s & 60’s, the Mondial Classic features a ‘Res-O-Glass’ top and mahogany back, complete with the rubber-bound edges found on those classic period pieces. The most unique feature for the Mondial Classic is that it houses two completely independent pickup systems, all the way down to separate output jacks for each system. The first system is a standard neck and bridge configuration with 2 Wilkinson WVC Humbuckers, a 3-way selector switch, and master volume and tone controls. The second system is an ‘under the bridge’ piezo ‘acoustic’ style pickup thats integrated into the wooden bridge, has a 2 band EQ Tone control, and independent volume control. These two separate systems give a wide range of tonal control and diversification thats not found on most guitars. You can run the two pickup system into 2 separate amps, and blend the sounds to create a full, rich ‘doubling’ sound combination with two fully different tones. The piezo has great acoustic sound characteristics, and with the two band EQ controls, you can really fine-tune that sound that your wanting out of the piezo. Combine that sweet clean sound from the piezo with a slightly dirty, edgy sound from the humbuckers and you’ll be blown away. If you’re playing a song or a set that doesn’t need the blend of two systems, just plug in to the humbucker jack and rock it like you normally do, or for an acoustic sound, plug it into the piezo and rock that solo. Its totally up to you.

If you're looking for an electric guitar with a truly unique sound, look no further than the Italia Mondial Classic. The F-hole style top is made from Italia's special 'Acousti-Glass' and finished in Cream, and the bridge is equipped with a piezo pickup with two-band EQ, on top of the Wilkinson humbucking pickups (Gibson P90 in bridge). This guitar is capable of producing tones that are simply not possible with traditional designs.

The Mondial Classic has a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets and pearloid block position inlays. Other features include chrome hardware and an Italia Action Wigsby tailpiece.
